My brain on cleaning, packages, school, and the full moon.

Dear Arizona,

I feel so out of it today. Yesterday was a busy day but I had a feeling it would be. I got two packages in the mail! One being espresso from Dutch Bros and oh goodness, if only you knew how good it feels to drink some Dbros. As soon as I got it I made myself two shots of espresso and just had a latte. I’m an unashamed sweet coffee drinker when given the preference, (although I can enjoy a cup of black coffee) but I was so excited to just have that coffee that I drank it with some soy milk and it was uplifting. Haha! It really did bring a new joy to my day. Never under-estimate what a good cup of coffee can do!

I also got a big package from my mom, full of surprises. It had home-made bread that was still soft. I immediately ate a piece, of course. Just plain; that’s how great it is. The package also had some other surprises, like boxes for trinkets and an assortment of chocolate (toblerones!). She gave me home-made cookies and other little things. The real surprise though: that sweet little woman, she sent me a pillow that she had sewn from one of my old sweatshirts that didn’t fit! I snuggled with it all night long.
So, now I’m trying to find places and spaces for all of my new presents and whenever that happens I get the creative itch to redecorate and organize… but. I have to hold on doing anything fun like that because NEXT WEEK IS WEEK TEN AND I NEED TO BE DONE WITH MY PROJECT FOR THIS QUARTER. Which wouldn’t be so terrifying if I had all next week to do it, but I don’t. Why, you ask? Oh, just because I have tech rehearsal for the sketch show for four hours every single night.

Deep breath. I need to de-stress but also let my stress level remain high enough to kick myself in the butt. So, I just opened my window because it’s raining softly and I have one of the candles mom sent me lit and I might make myself some coffee. Just enough action to release some tension, but not enough tension gone to go completely slack. (That makes sense, right…?)

All I’m saying is, Spring Break? I’m going to sleep too much, spend a lot of time doing art and exploring nature, and when I’m not doing those two things I’m just going to snuggle with my crew. (More on Spring Break at a later time, AZ. Right now, gotta’ be quick!)

The last thing on my mind is the ending to yesterday. Like I said, I was busy with my project and getting packages, as well as things I didn’t mention like enjoying the beautiful sunshine and 66 degree weather and going to the gym. (New fastest time on my mile run! Weee!) However, I woke up yesterday knowing that the day would holed exceptional qualities to it because it was the full moon! So, after some option-weighing I decided to go to the beach at about ten last night with some of the gang. At first we just stood on a rock that was visible due to the low tide and laughed with and at each other. Then, we traveled a bit down the beach and went to a really big bonfire. It was amazing! There were way more people than I would have expected and the moon was gorgeous and lit everything up perfectly. I was thankful to have worn my rain boots because I was able to walk a few steps into the sound and splash in the glittery-moon water! (Sydney called me a little nymph.) On the walk back through the forest we didn’t use a light because it was that bright through the trees and I was completely captivated by it. No pictures, no writing, not a thing could fully capture how amazing it was to look up through the tall Evergreens and see a clear night sky and a bright full moon. Or how it felt to watch three deer silently eat grass in the moonlight or what the water looked like moving so calm. I’m very glad I took my break last night because it was exactly what I needed.

But now what I need is to get to business.I’m not sure what the plan is for tonight so I need to make sure and get a good amount of work done. I miss you, AZ! Sending my love out the window and over the clouds to you.
-E.

PS:
My pillow and me! Also, Nightmare Before Christmas: what’s not to love? Disney, Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Halloween, and spooky romance. My kinda’ dig.
