Yesterday I traveled to downtown Olympia for a few things, one of which being to scope out Occupy Olympia. Unfortunately, we (being my friends an I) didn’t stay too long, but I got some pictures and we were lucky enough to see the “town” begin. At first it was being held at the park next to the old capitol building, but while we were checking it out everyone moved towards a larger grassy area near the lake. This location had public park bathrooms for those that stayed all day and night, and a first aid station, food station, and informational station were set up in the front. It was incredible seeing people there. Yesterday the sun was out and it was a bit of a cold day, but nice to sit in the grass and talk with people. As you’ll see, there was a lot going on…

In other news: I think we planned to go out Wednesday an stay the night. We’ll see how it’s all going and the statuses on everything. I want to at least get back down there to take some more cool photos. Because everyone was setting up again (due to location change) I wasn’t able to get as many cool protester posters as I had dreamed of. But, the community is what makes Occupy and as you can see, the community is just that. So, will report again.
In other, other news: Saw a fantastic acoustic show on Saturday night. Honestly blew me away. I am so thankful to be surrounded by so many talented and inspiring artists and musicians around here. Brilliant people. Hopefully some day soon I can write a little about being in on of those shows!
And, in news not really related to wither of those other newsies (what a cute, non-existent word!), I have another post-to-come filled with even more pictures and little things that exhibit every day Greener living.
Until next time, AZ.
