What’s Happening.

Dear Arizona,

Monday has become my day of cleaning and laying low. I don’t have class and the laundry rooms are always busy on the weekends, so I do things today like laundry and dish-washing and floor sweeping. Today, whilst doing my dish washing, I dropped my tea cup (the one with the tea strainer in it- yeah, I know-) an it broke. Major bummer. But I also went to the CRC (aka- the gym) and had a really nice run.
I also use Monday to recover from my weekend, because it’s generally so everywhere that by Sunday night my floor is covered in dirty clothes (and some clean clothes that I thought about wearing but tossed around instead) and miscellaneous objects that I carried around with in my backpack. There are also note-to-self notes around my desk, generally, along with other desk clutter such as: a cup with watercolor paint water, doodles and written scribbles, my camera, head-bands, empty water bottles, etc..

DSCN3578This weekend was especially ridiculous. For instance, I had my face painted on Friday night for the “circus” party. I hula hooped and took oh so creative light pictures. The group also traveled out to the Midnight Sun (dancing hot spot!) and walked up a really big hill (for the second time this month…). It was a lot of fun and there was glitter involved that ended up being gold and not (as I originally had thought-) silver. Speaking of, there is STILL glitter around my room, thank you very much. Dear Rachel, I think my place and your place might be sparkly for the rest of time .Love, me.

I’m not sure I can even explain Saturday to you, Arizona. I’ve told the story in as much detail as I possibly could to a few people and I feel like the comical and ridiculous aspect of it all just wouldn’t be conveyed correctly through a letter. Just know this: I went to the campus Harvest Fest, I danced to some good music, I fell in some water, I crawled through some mud and trees, I fell into another hole full of leaves, I walked in an accidental march of people, I met a good neighbor (think: State Farm), a metaphorical light-bulb went off, I sat in the rain an met four really wonderful people, I hung out on a couch with friends- one being a skeleton at the time- and then got on the 2:00 bus after the night was through and slept for a good amount of hours until Rachel came into my room and we relived our night with each other.

All in all, it was a spectacular weekend. Of course, after 18 years of me, AZ, you certainly know that next weekend is what I love best. Halloween weekend is coming up and I cannot wait for that. I’ve decided to be a pin-up girl cat. I’m very excited. (There will be a photo-shoot happening before this weekend so a plethora of pictures is headed your way!)
In other news, last week I talked with my professors an decided that I wanted to exhibit what I’ve been learning in a less traditional way- cough cough… essays/papers- and decided that I will be writing an illustrating a comic book that explains it all! I’ll be spending time from now until my break for Thanksgiving researching and outlining the first addition (as I will create three for the three subjects I’m studying an split them up per semester) and then the rest of the time creating it. I’m really excited about it. Of course, that’s on top of learning the basics of recording and jamming and beginning the process of music makin’. So, tomorrow when I go into class I’ll be making taking some notes and studying up, and I’ll keep you updated on my progress and stresses!DSCN3766

As always, I miss you. It’s getting colder here and I know that soon enough the nice, sunny days we’ve been having will disappear. I have about a month until I see you again, AZ. Until then, expect a big picture post soon.
xox, E.
